My Bucket List

Many of my Twitter and Bloggy friends have recently begun posting their Bucket Lists. I’ve been thinking about this ever since watching the movie by the same name (I heart you, Jack). I put a lot of thought into what I really wanted to do and what I would realistically be able to do. If I were to, say, win the Lottery, obviously this list would change. A lot. So, in no particular order:

1. Meet the love of my life. (8/30/1996)

2. Help and/or witness my daughter Bipolar Disorder become 100% stable.

3. Take a cruise to Puerto Rico with LeDaddy. I would love for my children to see the native land of their ancestors. To bad me no hablo espaniola.

4. Watch ‘Gone With the Wind’ with my daughter if she ever has the patience to sit still for 4 hours straight? Ok, maybe we can watch it in increments? May 2011, sporadically. :)

5. Move to New Jersey because seriously life in Florida has gotten stale.

6. Finish my AS degree so I can say I have a degree instead of saying I’m certifiable certified!

7. Get a degree in Psychology, so I can better understand my daughter (who has Bipolar Disorder), help other parents who are raising children with social/emotional/behavior issues more, and finally be able to determine if I’m crazy!

8. Write a book series. I have this story running circles in my head! It is keeping me up at night and that is not cool. I need love my beauty sleep.

  1. Amanda you can check off #55! You made a difference in my life and I thank God that the beautiful daughter he blessed me with is also a wonderful mother too! You my girl have knocked #55 out of the park! I love you!

  2. As far as #68. Check out Dave Ramsey. http://www.daveramsey.com He is great with budgeting and on his site you can connect with someone he recommends for financial planning (check out ELP). BTW his take on #35 credit rating is a lot different. Having a good credit rating means you have borrowed a lot of money. He is a multi millionaire with a credit rating of like 0. (read about it) BTW-his program financial peace university is fabulous.

And please take me to meet Oprah too.

as far as 89-you can give with small amounts. Also you can ask people to give you a gift (birthday, holiday) of a gift certificate to Kiva and you can choose who to help out.

  3. What a great list! Some of the things on yours are things I’ve done and found very rewarding. For example I used to be an ASL interpreter at one point. Sign is BEAUTIFUL. :) And other things. I look forward to following you on your journey! You made a long one! I tried to keep mine short… HAHA

And some of your stuff with pediatric bipolar? Same for me only sub in cancer. Isn’t it interesting how our kids get some issue and we want to become advocates? PBP is so misunderstood and hard to dx. It needs good advocates!!!!

    What is the Pajama Project?

BTW if you come to the White House let me know. But be warned it’s kind of a PITA to get in now. It takes several months to get your ticket and stuff. So it is something you’ll have to plan. But it’s pretty cool. Good luck meeting the PoTUS. I live here. I avoid him at all costs. I hate the security nightmare. ;) HAHA That said, I did go see Obama when he stopped in my town on the campaign trail. That was pretty cool, because I knew that he’d be the next President. (It was pretty close to election time.)

    PS Here’s mine: http://ladyozma.wordpress.com/2010/11/10/filling-my-bucket-one-task-at-a-time/

    • Thank you for your kind words and your advice! The Pajama Project is a charity drive that my daughter and I will be putting together this year to collect pajamas, teddy bears, blankets, story books and monetary donations for the local children’s hospital that provides inpatient care for children who are dealing with mental illness.

      • That’s awesome! My oldest (the one that had cancer) is working on collecting pillowcases for children in the hospital dealing with cancer. So I totally like your project!

  4. I love this idea. I am very list motivated and while i know people have these lists i like the idea of having it be apart of my blog
